HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMISSION VII CONDUCTS WORKING VISIT TO PIK2, HIGHLIGHTING SUSTAINABLE TOURISM AND MSME EMPOWERMENT
Indonesian House of Representatives Commission VII conducted a Specific Working Visit to the PIK2 Tourism Area during the Third Session of the 2025-2026 Parliamentary Year at Sharia Tower PIK2 on February 5, 2026. The visit, which was warmly welcomed by the management of Agung Sedayu Group, aimed to directly review the development of an integrated urban tourism destination while ensuring that governance, public access, coastal environmental sustainability, and MSME involvement are aligned with national policies.
The visit was led by Dr. Evita Nursanty, M.Sc., as Head of the Delegation, together with Deputy Head Rahayu Saraswati D. Djojohadikusumo. During the meeting, House of Representatives Commission VII held discussions with PT Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 Tbk, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of MSMEs, the Ministry of Creative Economy, and local government representatives.
Dr. Evita Nursanty emphasized the importance of oversight in large-scale regional development. "The PIK area is developing as an integrated urban tourism destination with significant potential to drive economic growth and jobs creation. However, large-scale development requires balanced oversight. We are here to carry out the House of Representatives supervisory function," she stated.
Banyu Biru Djarot, a member of Commission VII of the House of Representatives, assessed that PIK2 has emerged as a popular destination with strong potential to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem. "Our push is to create a robust ecosystem down to the grassroots level, so that MSMEs can make an impact, and the surrounding communities can truly experience economic empowerment," he said.
President Director of Agung Sedayu Group, Lieutenant General (Ret.) Dr. Nono Sampono, S.Pi., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the visit. "We hope that the outcomes of this visit will serve as important input in formulating relevant and equitable policy recommendations, ensuring that the development of PIK2 delivers tangible benefits to the community and aligns with inclusive and sustainable tourism principles," he said.
Aside from the discussions, the delegation also visited By The Sea PIK to directly observe the role of the creative economy and the opportunities available for non-franchise MSMEs, as well as Masjid Al Ikhlas PIK. This visit is expected to serve as a foundation for more measurable policy recommendations, while strengthening oversight of sustainable national tourism development that prioritizes community interests.
