AGUNG SEDAYU GROUP & UNIVERSITAS TERBUKA HOST INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR
Collaboration between Agung Sedayu Group and Universitas Terbuka was once again reaffirmed through the organization of an International Seminar titled “Harmonizing Sharia Economic Principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): An Integrative Strategy for Inclusive and Sustainable Development.” The event took place at the Marketing Gallery PIK2-Hall Annex, Tangerang, on February 12, 2026.
In partnership with the Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Terbuka, the forum brought together industry leaders, academics, and international experts to explore the synergy between Islamic economic principles and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) introduced by the United Nations in 2015.
President Director of Agung Sedayu Group, Dr. Nono Sampono, emphasized that the forum was more than an academic discussion, it represented a strategic initiative by the business sector to support national development.“Agung Sedayu Group views this forum as a momentum to generate policy recommendations that are practical and relevant for both the business community and the government. We hope today’s discussions will produce strategic ideas that strengthen the national Islamic economic ecosystem, enhance the quality of human resources, and encourage sustainable investment that delivers tangible benefits to society at large,” he stated.
Echoing this perspective, Dr. Hendrian highlighted the importance of ensuring that the collaboration extends beyond the seminar itself. “The partnership between Universitas Terbuka particularly the Faculty of Economics and Business and Agung Sedayu Group is expected to continue beyond this seminar. We hope this collaboration will grow through applied initiatives in human capital development and contribute meaningfully to strengthening Indonesia’s Islamic economic ecosystem,” he remarked.
The seminar discussions focused on integrating Islamic economic instruments, such as zakat, waqf, and green sukuk, with SDG targets, while also formulating strategic policy briefs and academic publications as concrete policy recommendations.
Through this forum, Agung Sedayu Group and Universitas Terbuka reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening the Islamic economic ecosystem and advancing Indonesia’s development toward a more inclusive, sustainable, and globally competitive future.
