Education as a Long-Term Investment in Human Resources and Regional Development
Education plays a vital role in strengthening the quality of human resources, especially in today’s increasingly competitive global era. The opportunity to learn is no longer merely a necessity, it is the foundation for building competence, independence, and a better future. However, access to higher education remains challenging for many due to factors such as cost, distance, and time flexibility.
Universitas Terbuka (UT) was established as a response to these challenges through its open and distance learning system, enabling anyone, anywhere, to pursue quality higher education. At the same time, the private sector has grown increasingly aware that improving the quality of human resources is not only an individual responsibility but also that of organizations and the broader community that supports them.

In this context, collaboration becomes the key. On Monday, November 10, 2025, PT Bangun Kosambi Sukses Tbk (part of Agung Sedayu Group) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Terbuka. The MoU was signed by Lieutenant General (Mar.) (Ret.) Dr. Nono Sampono, S.Pi., M.Si., President Director of Agung Sedayu Group and representative of the company’s board, and Prof. Dr. Ali Muktiyanto, S.E., M.Si., Rector of Universitas Terbuka.
This partnership covers the development of education, research, community service, internship programs, and capacity building for both company employees and surrounding communities. As a concrete step, a Cooperation Agreement was also signed with Universitas Terbuka Serang and Yayasan Dimuso Generasi Bangsa to provide undergraduate tuition assistance for employees and local residents around the PIK2 area.

In his remarks, Nono Sampono stated, “Agung Sedayu Group has officially signed an agreement to provide scholarships for 200 prospective students of Universitas Terbuka, with a total value of IDR 2,986,000,000. The funding is allocated from the CSR program of PT Bangun Kosambi Sukses Tbk, or PIK2.” The implementation of the educational assistance program will cover a maximum period of eight (8) semesters, effective from the Odd Semester of the 2026/2027 academic year through to the Even Semester of the 2029/2030 academic year.
